Miss Vickie's Ristoranti Series - Nora Gray: Spicy Pepperoncini & Focaccia

A delectable entry in the Miss Vickie’s Ristoranti series, showcasing a selection of amazing Italian restaurants across Canada!

It’s already the third and last bag of chips I’m trying in the Miss Vickie’s Ristoranti series, featuring the best Italian restaurants across Canada. The Spicy Pepperoncini & Focaccia chips, inspired by Nora Gray, a highly rated restaurant located in Montreal, QC, serves rustic southern Italian cuisine. As a fan of both the ⌞Ask for Luigi inspired Cacio e Pepe chips⌝ and the ⌞Badiali inspired Vodka Pizza Sauce chips⌝, let’s see how these fare. From experiencing the previous two, these will probably be just as amazing!

Chip Bag: Front & Back

Regal Visuals

Once again, following the trend of the unified visuals, the design of the bag completes the collection with a deep red colour bringing it all together. The saturated red with gold really makes the bag look really regal, accompanied by the dish on an ornately marked plate. Though I’ve only made focaccia once in my life, I had a very enjoyable experience and was a fan of this type of bread for a long time. The chips itself are light with some red flakes (even though pepperoncini is green?) sprinkled randomly on the surface.

y typical orangey chip. Honestly what I expected for a pizza flavoured chip.

A Pepperoncini Kick

The Pepperoncini isn’t a pepper that packs a lot of heat, however, these chips still have a noticeable spicy kick to them with a bit of the heat that lingers for a short while. It’s not overwhelming and quite enjoyable even for people who may not be able to handle too much spice. The focaccia itself I couldn’t actually taste, though the real life counterpart doesn’t really have a prominent flavour profile in the first place, as it’s usually used as a crisp doughy vehicle for a more rich and flavourful topping.

Can't Stop Eating

As always Miss Vickie’s chips reliably delivers their signature crunchy kettle chips, which is why they’re one of my favourite brands. Similar to the Vodka Sauce Pizza, these aren’t as heavy feeling as the Cacio e Pepe chips. I can really could easily eat a whole bag if I don’t stop myself.

The Chips

Final Thoughts:

Finishing this series with the Spicy Pepperoncini & Focaccia gives off the perfect finale to this series of chips. Checking off all the boxes for what I love when I munch on chips. The amount of heat is at a near perfect level for my own spice tolerance, where it enhances the experience rather than overpower with heat. While I can’t taste the focaccia, it gives off the vibe of a very homey and warming feeling. Matching the rustic theme of the restaurant. All in all, this Ristoranti series is a spectacular one. While initially I had difficulties getting more, later on I was able to get bags here and there. What a wonderful series!
